Florida

For Spring Break, we went on a "little" roadtrip to Orlando, Florida with Chase and Raquel, and Shayne and Sherri. We had soooo much fun! It's been a while since we've had a good vacation (going to Utah doesn't count). Anyway, we went to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Wet 'n Wild. Lexie was such a good sport, she slept mostly in the car, which was good because it took us 18 hours to get down there and 16 to get back. She is quite the road tripper now. She was also really good at all the parks. And she loved the water too! Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of her in her swimsuit...oops!
Getting ready for Florida: We bought Lexie a few hats for her first venture out into the Florida sun. We were very happy and surprised that she keeps the hats on--she doesn't even mess with them! I guess all the millions of headbands I have put on her have paid off and she is used to having something on her head! This is actually Lexie at the zoo before we left. We went a couple days in a row so she would get used to riding around in her stroller. This is part of the reason she was so good in the car: we let her gnaw on a teething biscuit. What a mess! (but it was worth the quiet)The Hulk: It starts by launching you from 0 to 40 mph in 2 seconds flat...it was a lot of fun, but after going on it twice in a row (because of baby swap), we were a little disoriented! Chase made some new friends:James playing a shooting game. He won both times he played (prizes were stuffed animals).

Sherri and I with Lucille Ball

James loves Marilyn Monroe...
Here we are at Wet 'n Wild. You can't see the top of this slide, but it was really high and you sat in a rocket and it shot you down. James loved it, I didn't care for it.
Maybe she'll grow up to be a dentist too...

More pictures to come...Sherri took more than I did...

Lunch with the Girls (and Nolan)

Beth holding Emma's cute little baby Nolan
Everyone:Emma, Quest, Joni, Linda, Nolan, Deana, Lexie, Me, Beth, Edie

More fun pictures:
Lexie LOVES paper...here she is destroying a magazine...She usually gets to
play with the junk mail before it gets thrown away.

Who would have thought the box would be more fun than the toy? Since Lexie has been standing up so much lately, I decided to set up the dancing tower she got for Christmas. She liked that too, but I'm pretty sure she enjoyed the box more! We might keep that box around for another few days!
Lexie has this new smile that she gives me whenever she is playing on the floor and looks up at me. It's too cute. What a cheeseball!

This little girl is going to be walking in no time...she pulls herself up on EVERYTHING! Including (but not limited to) people, other babies, ottoman, couch, stairs, basket by the stairs, empty toy box, and yesterday the toilet (yuck!). She loves standing up and would do it all day long if she could. I don't know why she is making this face, but how do you say no to a face like that?

7 months

Lexie turned 7 months at the end of February. She has grown up so much in just these few last weeks. She has gotten really good at crawling, and she is also getting good at pulling herself up. She loves to stand up to play (she doesn't want to be playing in her excersaucer, she is happy standing up against anything.) Here are a few more pictures of our baby girl:

Here she is holding herself up and playing with a fork (super safe toy): She is also starting to walk around on things, but its still pretty unsteady. She wants to be standing up the majority of the day, and if James or I are sitting on the floor, she will hold onto our legs to pull herself up and stand next to us.

Some days I have to get creative to keep Lexie happy while I get stuff done around the house.

Here she is being made into the bed and eating a cookie to keep her still.

She is always happy to see me when she wakes up from a nap, but imagine my surprise to come into her room and find this:

Needless to say, we lowered her crib to its lowest position last weekend.

Lexie has gotten really easy to put down to sleep. We have James' old teddy bear, which stays in the crib only so Lexie only gets it to sleep with. I think she's gotten pretty attached to it, considering it consoled her through some rough hours of crying. When I lay her down, this is how she cuddles with it:

And last but not least, one more blanket. My artistic skills aren't the best, but I though it turned out pretty well.

The Smartest Baby in the World

Not only is Lexie so advanced that she crawled early, she can also play the piano. Isn't she just the smartest baby in the world?!Just kidding! Actually, these are a few pictures from her 6 month photo shoot with Monica. I am so excited to get these printed out. Thank you so much Monica, you did a great job!

Pay it Forward

This has been a popular post lately, and my sister just added it to her blog and I am going to be the FIRST person to comment! Yay, I win! Here's how it works. The first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive a handmade gift or treat from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise. The catch is that you must participate as well. Before you leave your comment, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going. Then come back, let me know you're going to play and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift! Yeah, for homemade things and surprise packages!

Crawling

Lexie started army crawling last week. Here are some pictures of her getting into trouble:

That pile of DVDs are ones that she pulled out. She must have been looking for the
perfect one to chew on.

Growing up way too fast: James has been practicing standing with her. (she is leaning against the back of the ottoman). She is going to be walking way too soon!
This is what Lexie is up to right now while I am blogging. It was too cute to not get a picture. Who needs to sit IN the exersaucer when you can crawl under it??

Crawling Video:
This video is from last week-she has gotten quite a bit better at moving around since then. I just love watching this one though, and I particulary love how she dives head first for the piece of paper on the floor. I promise I really do vacuum!

Blankets

Well I have been busy making blankets. Some have been gifts, but I was hoping to start selling some. I already have some on Etsy, but if anyone knows of somewhere around Columbus to sell them, please please let me know!
